The robot is equipped with advanced mapping, which is similar to that of the iRobot S9 or i7+. It is able to save a cleaning plan that you can personalize.

1. iRobot i1

The iRobot i1 is an entry-level robot vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It can be controlled through the irobot roomba robot vacuum app or via voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. It's cheaper than the more expensive Roomba versions such as the i8+ and j7+. It comes with many of the same features, but isn't equipped with the advanced navigation features.

It's great at cleaning bare floors but not so much on carpeting. It's great for tile and laminate flooring and comes with a head for cleaning that can be inserted into corners. It can be set to clean specific areas or rooms of your home, and can be used to create virtual boundary lines to keep it from entering rooms you don't want it to.

The i1 also comes with a self-emptying dirt compartment which allows you to not have to manually empty its trash each time it's running out of room. It's easy to maintain, but you must empty its brushes every week. Its vSLAM navigation utilizes cameras instead of laser sensors. This means that it takes longer to map rooms, and it isn't able to recognize furniture, unlike as the more expensive Roomba model.

If you do have problems with your iRobot, the company provides replacement parts for free and other assistance for a year when you sign up for its iRobot Select membership. The plan does come with some restrictions which include not covering the possibility of theft, mysterious disappearance or loss and it's not able to substitute the standard 1-year manufacturer warranty.

2. iRobot i7+

The i7+ is more impressive than the Roomba in its ability to clean floors. The i7+ is logical and methodical, unlike the cheaper Roomba 690 or Eufy RoboVac 11s that bounce around the room like pool balls and get stuck under furniture. It starts by vacuuming in rows along the floor before moving to the edges of the room. If it runs out of battery or its dirt bin gets full it stops and then returns to the point where it stopped until it's recharged. It also keeps a recurrent map of the room, which means that it doesn't matter if furniture is moved or re-arrange a space the i7+ will change its map each time it cleans the area.

The i7+ can be controlled remotely via the iRobot Home App, without having to be physically present. You can schedule cleaning times for specific rooms, or create virtual boundaries to ensure that the Roomba is not in certain areas. You can also view Roomba's history of cleaning jobs and verify its battery level.

The i7+ is a lot more expensive than the 981, but it has more performance on floors that are not bare as well as a bigger dustbin and the ability to automatically empty its dirt bin into a bigger dirtbag that is built into its charging dock. The iRobot is also more durable, has a greater battery life and charges quicker than the Shark. The i7+ is also able to remove more debris from carpets with low pile and can be set up with a virtual barrier line by using the irobot mopping robot Home App. The i7+ robot vacuum isn't the best irobot roomba for pet owners or those with hair that is long. Its brushes can become caught in hair, and you'll have to flip the i7+ over and scrub its moving parts at times and it can get more than a little messy.

3. iRobot S9+

The iRobot S9+ or Baby Rocky as my three-year old refers to it, does a great job cleaning floors with no floor. It can remove a variety of debris and has the best suction we've seen from a consumer robot. It's very luxurious and has a long battery life, allowing it to clean a large room without running out of power.

It utilizes iAdapt Navigation 3.0 with vSLAM in order to learn the house's layout and to create personalized Smart Maps that allow it to navigate effectively. It also automatically mop using Imprint Link technology after vacuuming. It's the first iRobot robot with the D-shaped body. This allows it to move closer to edges and corners than conventional round robots like the Neato Botvac D7.

We found the iRobot more user-friendly and intuitive than its predecessors. It can be used with voice commands through Alexa or Google Assistant and has a variety of customizable settings that allow you to alter the strength of its cleaning. The irobot For Pets app also lets you make the rooms you want it to clean, which can be beneficial when you need the robot to focus on a specific area.

Our only complaint about the S9 is that it could sometimes run over things like toy strings and power cords. It can also be noisy when vacuuming and occasionally gets stuck on larger obstructions like couch legs. But, it did not lose charge during cleaning and was quick to return to its charging dock for the dirt to be forcefully sucked into a storage bin. Self-cleaning and docking is a huge improvement over older iRobots which required manual emptying each time they were used.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

With a mobile application and integration with Alexa and Google Assistant, initiating cleaning sessions on the Dreametech L10s Ultra is as easy as tapping your phone screen or uttering an audio command. Physical control options on the robot are not as extensive, with most functions available via the app and a few buttons, including a leave button that requires the unit to leave its base station and a clean button that begins a general cleaning.

The L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mopper is the sole one in our rankings to offer a docking station that is self-emptying and self-refilling. This means that you can leave your robot alone for 60 days without having to empty the dust bag or refill the water tank.

The Dreametech L10s Ultra has some of most advanced AI features available in its class. It uses an RGB-camera and 3D-structured lighting to understand the layout of your home, customize cleaning strategies, and generate paths based upon the room's layout and obstacles. This can help minimize missed spots, frequent cleaning, and frustrations from getting lost or stuck.

In our tests, the robot was able to detect thin chair legs easily. It could get caught in socks or cables that are lying on the ground. Fortunately, this can be avoided by turning off object recognition in the app.

Some people are concerned about privacy, but we experienced no major issues with the Dreametech L10s Ultra camera. The privacy policy of the company is simple: they do not store any photos from your camera. You can disable the room recognition and object avoidance in the app, if you do not wish to use these features.

5. Eufy 11S

The Eufy 11S is a pared-back robot vacuum that effectively collects fine dust and large debris from hard floors. It's great for daily cleanings however it's not as efficient in cleaning edges or corners. It is easy to use and has a variety of automated cleaning modes. It doesn't come with an app, which means you aren't able to create virtual barriers, monitor the life of your accessories or look over the history of cleaning. The 11S is an excellent choice for those looking for a basic robot that's affordable and easy to use.

The 11S is a minor height of just 7.2 cm, which means it fits under furniture that is low and can get over doorsteps effortlessly. It is equipped with large and sturdy wheels that enable it to effortlessly handle carpets and large pile carpets. The dirt compartment on this model is bigger than the other models. This means it needs to be emptied much less often. The remote control lets you adjust a number of settings including power modes and automated programs. The 11S also comes with a manual edge cleaning option and a spot cleaner. The 11S can also be tethered to its charging dock using an included zip tie.

Compared to the ILIFE A4s the eufy RoboVac 11S is better at clearing pet hair on bare floors and is less prone to heavy debris. It's also better-built, easier to maintain and has fewer ongoing costs and provides superior performance on all kinds of floors. It also has a longer battery life and is easier to maneuver. It doesn't have a smart pathing feature, however, it offers many other conveniences like a self-emptying dust bin and an directional remote. It also has an upgraded HEPA filter and a filtration system for allergen trapping than the ILIFE A4s.
